Digit Owls ("we", "our", or "us") built the Connection app. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our service.

Information We Collect

• Google Account Information: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture. We use your email solely for account identification.
• Username: A display name you set within the app, shown to other players on leaderboards and puzzle credits.
• Game Statistics: Points earned, puzzles solved, puzzles created, daily streak, achievements, and leaderboard rankings.
• Puzzle Content: The puzzles you create, including categories and words, are stored and published for other users to solve.
• In-App Activity: Power-up usage, coin balance, and reward history to maintain your game progress.
• Push Notification Token: A device token used to send you optional game notifications. Stored securely in Firebase.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your account and maintain your game progress across devices
• To display your profile, stats, and puzzles within the app and on leaderboards
• To award coins, points, and achievements based on your gameplay
• To deliver optional push notifications about new daily puzzles and rewards
• To improve game features and fix bugs using aggregated, anonymised usage data

Data Storage

All data is stored securely using Google Firebase services (Firestore, Firebase Authentication). Data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Advertising

We use Google AdMob to display advertisements within the app. AdMob may collect device identifiers and usage data to serve relevant ads. Children's Privacy

Our service is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Data Retention

Your account and game data are retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete the app, locally cached data is removed. To permanently delete your account and all associated data, contact us at the address below.

Your Rights

• Access: You may request a copy of the data we hold about you.
• Deletion: You may request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
• Correction: You may update your display name within the app at any time.
• Opt-out: You may disable push notifications in your device settings at any time.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, and cloud functions
• Google AdMob — in-app advertising
• Google Sign-In — account authentication

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
